Marcus Campbell (basketball)

Marcus Campbell (born 11 March 1982 in Winter Haven, Florida) is an American professional basketball player currently with the Iran Superleague team Shiraz a.s Pipe. Campbell is 2.14m tall, and played college basketball at Mississippi State University.

Professional career

On October 1, 2007, Marcus Campbell was signed as a free agent by the Charlotte Bobcats. The Bobcats waived him two weeks later on October 13. He played most of the 2007-08 Season for the Anaheim Arsenal in the NBA Development League. During the 2008-09 Pre Season, Campbell was signed as a free agent by the Houston Rockets, but was waived once again a few days later on October 5, 2008. For the start of the 2008-09 season, Campbell played 8 games with CD Villa de Los Barrios. On December 18, 2008, Campbell rejoined the Anaheim Arsenal, along with a past teammate, Kedrick Brown. He was selected with the number one overall pick in the 2009 NBA D-League Draft by the Springfield Armor but never played for them. Campbell did not play in the 2009-10 season. For the first half of the 2010-11 season, Campbell played 16 games with French club Le Portel. Then for the 2011 NZL NBL season, Campbell played for the Taranaki Mountainairs. After the NBL season finished, Campbell signed to play in Iran for Shiraz a.s Pipe.
